Comings and Goings: downtown York business owner closes two stores (2024)

The owner of m.elene Vintage, the Boutique at m.elene and Mason Lee has scaled back her businesses.

Molly Halbert announced on the m.elene Facebook page that The Boutique at m.elene and Mason Lee, located at 21 and 17 S. Beaver St. in downtown York, respectively, have closed. The original m.elene vintage store, located at 22 S. Beaver St., will remain open and now offers new and vintage goods, “while continuing to share its beautiful building and courtyard for events and community engagement,” according to the post.

“I have decided to spend this precious time dedicated to being with my children. I will continue to be an active supporter of our incredible community, striving to further grow and develop the city of York. The time I spend with my children is invaluable and I am beyond grateful for those who have supported me in making this very difficult decision,” Halbert wrote in the post.

Mason Lee opened in June and The Boutique at m.elene, an expansion of m.elene Vintage, opened in 2021.
